We host regular Arts and Crafts groups for the local community. These are social, self supporting groups where people with similar interests can meet and share ideas. Please telephone for more details and to find out availability of places.

ART GROUP:  Thursday, 1.30 - 3.30 pm.  £2.50 per session. Our art group, using a range of mediums, now takes place once a week. Suitable for complete beginners who want to learn from others and more experienced artists who want to paint with others and share ideas.

OIL PAINTING GROUP:  Friday, 1.30 - 3.30 pm.  £2.50 per session. This is a relatively new group which was started by members of our general art group who wanted to try their hand at oil painting. Suitable for complete beginners who want to learn from others and more experienced artists..

POTTERY GROUP:  Tuesdays, 10.00 am – 12.00pm. £2.50 per session. Following on from the success of our first pottery course and making full use of our recently acquired kiln, we are now holding a weekly pottery group. Suitable for anyone. Beginners particularly welcome. Why not come along and give it a try.  There may be some additional charges for clay and glazes.

CREATIVE WRITING GROUP: Wednesdays, 7.00pm, once a month. £2.50 per session. Please note that this group has been temporarily suspended until further notice. Please phone to check date of next meeting. The group is for people wishing to improve their writing skills. We will be looking at different aspects of writing each time and there will also be a slot for people to share their own writing, or a piece of published prose they admire. Everyone welcome, from beginners through to more experienced writers.

PHOTOGRAPHY GROUP: Mondays, 6.30pm, once a fortnight. £2.50 per session. We are a mixed group, from total amateur through to more experienced; we learn from one another about using our cameras, and how to take a good photo. We occasionally ask a professional photography to attend, to provide more information and help. We also intend, when the weather improves, to have outings, and occasional exhibitions of our work. KNITTING GROUP:  Mondays 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm. £2.50 per session. Our knitting group is now well established but new members are always welcome. Bring along what you’re working on, have a chat and a cup of tea or coffee and share tips and ideas!

SANQUHAR POETRY GROUP: 1st Tuesday of every month, 7.00 pm.
